An Old Friend, and An Eye For Power
After 5 real months, I finally managed to get in touch with DarkEmerald again...Turns out she had a character on Nektulos server, but only level 11, so it was pretty painless if she were to start over in Antonia Bayle, which she did. As luck would have it, Pagan also came online about the same time, and so we finally went to see Pagan in Irontoes East and got her into the guild. Her main character name is Mireeh, and type is healer. She's going to go from Cleric to Templar after her class quest.
We had some fun when Pagan and Zehn hopped onto their froggies and we roamed Antonica killing stuff and helping DE to level up. Last we left her, she was level 9. Class quest should have happened now.
Anyway I have been looking for the red shard for Eye for Power heritage quest. Yeah I know where it's supposed to be, but there's too many aggro mobs in the area to do a successful search for it. I need Zehn or whoever to cast Invisibility on me so I can go run around abit more freely there than I can now. I need to get it soon, cos there may be a guild event on Saturday to complete this quest.
It's funny that Wind Walk, the monk's invisibility, happens only ONCE and even the Adept I version works up to only level 42s. Any mobs higher than 42 will be able to see through this.
However, Feign Death/Play Dead/Stop Heart or various incarnations of playing dead spell, happens a few times (ie upgrade)... and it's something I hardly ever use, and have never seen another monk use it ever. Actually unlike City of Heroes, I get a few useless skills:
- Dragonstance - lose defenses, increases attack. No thanks, I'd rather have more defenses
- Stone Stance - stuns caster, almost impervious to damage. Yay I can be invulnerable, but I can't attack.. so why bother to use it? I can't move, I can't do anything except stand there. Its closest brother, Face Of The Mountain is alot more useful. It just roots me and increases damage resistance. Yes, I have a use for Face of The Mountain, but will have zero use for Stone Stance.
- Everburning Flame - Yeah so I attack faster "at the cost of health". What's the point? Now that I have the Flowing Black Silk Sash, it makes Everburning Flame even more useless.
- Control Breathing - ok it's supposed to let me breath underwater. YAY! But, for only 30 seconds... uhhhh why? I may as well not use this at all for this purpose. Its other purpose is an "upgrade" to Martial Discipline/Karmic Focus line of skills. However after comparing statistics and power-use per activation, I decided to stick with Karmic Focus. What a waste...
